San José del Cabo, a small town full of Mexican charm and authentic restaurants, is located at the tip of Mexico’s Southern Baja Peninsula. One of the highlights of the town’s dining options is Tequila Restaurant. The restaurant contains hundreds of florescent lanterns set amongst a plethora of beautifully multi-colored fruit trees. All of the food is completely fresh and the restaurant is known for its delectable margaritas and its wide variety of both imported and domestic wines. Even the seafood comes from the local market, Mercado Municipal. While dining outside in the midst of the tropical breezes, visitors are seated just steps from the chef’s herb garden stocked with rosemary, lemon grass, and basil. Tequila Restaurant’s menu is both diverse and full of genuinely delicatessen Baja cuisine options for both those visiting and locals.

Most of the organic food on the menu comes from Los Tamarindos farm. At the farm one can choose to indulge in cooking classes taught by none other than chef and co-owner of Tequila Restaurant, Enrique Silva. Enrique Silva is one of the most talented Baja cuisine chefs in the entire region. Originally an agricultural engineer, Silva understands the intricate processes of farming and cultivating produce. However, Silva stated, “There’s no future in farming.” He went on to say, “People continue in agriculture for the tradition, not the money.” San Josė del Cabo is full of Mexican traditions, making it a perfect location for tourists wanting to experience the beauty of Mexico’s Baja cuisine, culture, and history.
